Are the conspiracy theories in the new X-Files actually true?

Breaking down the new 'Conspiracy Theories' in the new X-Files mini-series.

It seems that Chris Carter, the creator of the hit TV series the X-Files, which is experiencing a minor reboot in the form of a six episode miniseries, has done his conspiracy homework. The storyline of the old series, that of an elaborate Alien conspiracy to colonize the earth as assisted by a group of global elite human collaborators, has gotten a facelift in the current reboot which takes place fourteen years later.

As discovered in the new series (spoiler alert), Agent Mulder begins to suspect, after some prodding by a television news show host by the name of Tad O'Malley whose character according to Chris Carter is based on Alex Jones, that the entire conspiracy from the old X-Files was nothing more than an elaborate rules by nefarious globalists to obfuscate the true conspiracy: A takedown of America by a global elite.

Some of the new theories are in fact based on some real evidence which anyone can readily find by doing a light Google search on the following topics. Let's explore some of the new theories.

9/11

On of the theories touted on the new X-Files miniseries is that the events of 9-11 were a "False Flag". In conspiracy vernacular, this means that the story that was told about the event was a cover story to hide the true perpetrators of the attack. The prevailing theory of a 9-11 false flag is that the US government allowed the attacks of 9-11 to happen and even assisted the terrorists in carrying out the attacks. The greatest form of evidence that the official story of 9-11 is not what we have been told is a documentary by the group known as Architects and Engineers for 9-11 Truth. In their exhaustive documentary, the architects and engineers reject the claim that jet fuel caused the twin towers to fall.

The second most strongest evidence against the official 9-11 story is the collapse of WTC7. This World Trade Center building was not hit by aircraft that day and yet fell into it's own footprint at the speed of gravity which is impossible.

Domestic Surveillance

Another theory mention in the first episode of the new miniseries revolves around the spying on Americans by the intelligence community. Ten years ago, this theory would have been laughed off and you'd be asked to grab your tinfoil hat at the mere speculation that it could be true. However, today after the revelations of Edward Snowden, most Americans have come to accept that they are being spied upon.

There have been some admission of this which border on hubris, but there are also official denials that American are being spied on by their own government.

But aside from the wild claims and official stances, most evidence points to the assertion that we are being spied on by our own government.

Suppressed Technologies

In fantastic fashion, Mulder is shown a man-made UFO which was built using "Suppressed technologies" that the architects of the craft claimed have been suppressed "since the Roswell crash in 1947". While it is certainly true that the U.S. does have a secret program out of which came such craft as the SR71 blackbird (whose top-speed is still classified Top Secret). There is no hard evidence to suggest that these technologies derived from an extraterrestrial source.

At one point when discussing suppressed technologies on the film, Mulder accuses the oil industry of suppressing clean energy for profit motives. There is certainly a trove of cases which seem to corroborate this such as the tragic case of Stan Meyer whose water-powered car never saw mass production after he mysteriously died.

National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA-2013)

A casual mention of this ACT was made in the first episode entitled "My Struggle" (Mein Kampf in German btw). This is a yearly ACT of Congress which typically outlines a budget for the fiscal year for the Department of Defense. However, in 2013, the ACT gave authorization for the office of the POTUS to indefinitely detain American Citizens without a trial. This obviously raised some alarm bells of many patriotic Americans who maintain this violates our Constitutional rights, which in fact it does. This document appears to get it's teeth from the PATRIOT Act which was passed after 9-11 and has many critics who claim it erodes our liberties.

Fema Camps/Civilian Inmate Labor Program

What kind of X-Files would it be without FEMA conspiracies? This was only a brief mention in the show, but it deserves a look. Ever since the inception of FEMA it seems there have been claims that this bureau is responsible for all manner of ills. They were even mentioned in the first X-FIles movie as being not just part of the shadow-government, but the actual shadow-government itself. Mostly, this government program did nothing more than botch almost every emergency situation they handled until it was folded into the newly formed DHS after 9-11.  Conspiracies have run wild over this government entity, but the theory of "Fema Camps" meant for American citizens was given massive gravitas a few years ago when an official government document entitled "Civilian inmate Labor Program" was leaked outlining plans to round up dissidents and process their social security numbers before incarcerating them in prison camps.

Geoengineering

Weather warfare and geoengineering are not so crazy a concept as you would imagine. During the Vietnam War, the US routinely altered the weather to make it rain on the Ho Chi Minh trail. There have also been treaties between nations since the 70s banning weather warfare. The Smithsonian Institute even recently claimed that airplane contrails were inadvertently altering our weather. The possibilities certainly exists to alter weather with some fairly high-tech Tesla type technologies or the spraying of particulates (barium and strontium) into the atmosphere.

Martial Law

The claim that an emergency will be declared and "Martial Law" imposed in order to suspend the constitution is the hallmark of any good conspiracy theory. Chris Carter apparently agreed as he included this term in episode one of the new miniseries. There are many theories, some of which include that we are already in a state of martial law. This theory has been popularized by the enigmatic Radio Talk show host Alex Jones whose personality is the impetus behind the Tad O'Malley character. The striking fact about Alex Jones is he has been making conspiracy claims for over 20 years and many of the things that Jones has warned would happen have actually happened.

Conclusion

It appears the new X-Files miniseries is less fantasy and more fact than its predecessor series. If you are interested in learning more about these theories, I suggest you watch some of Alex Jones's material which are available free on YouTube. It may give you a broader perspective when watching the new X-Files.

As an X-Files fan, I thoroughly enjoy this new series. I was a teen when it first aired and I grew up with the show. It seems that 14 years later, the show has grown with me. It is deserving of a watch and some praise as Chris Carter has successfully incorporated modern conspiracy culture into the X-Files mythos.

The truth is still out there...
